Client: Watson MacEwen Teramura Architects

Services: Interior architectural lighting design

Location: Ottawa, ON

Description:
MCLD was engaged to provide architectural lighting design for the rehabilitation of the first floor of the former Post Office branch at Sparks St. The first floor of the building was de-designed to serve as a high level executive boardroom, complete with video conferencing and simultaneous interpretation capabilities.

MCLD designed and specified all lighting for the project, ensuring that the lighting was unobtrusive and blended in with the restoration of the historical finishes in the space, while also meeting the lighting requirements associated broadcast and simultaneous interpretation. Key to the project was the upgrade of the perimeter glass lensed heritage fixtures to new LEDs, with MCLD performing several mock-ups to ensure the lenses were evenly illuminated.
